Jon is a pedal steel player/ utility player. He is has several pedal steels- a Derby D10 Double Neck and an MSA Classic (single neck). Jon mostly plays on the E9th neck which is known as the "money neck"....that means that most of the pedal steel sounds that people are familiar were played and recorded on the E9th neck. The other neck- C6th is good for jazz, western swing, etc since it has the capability of playing more unique chords (E9th can still do a lot of that as well). Jon has over 10 years of experience playing pedal steel. He also plays lap steel and dobro. Here are the other guitars he has for slide playing- Magnatone lap steep 1950's or so and a Beard Square-neck Resonator R.
